WOW!! The meeting Tuesday night was great. We had new family members join us and missed those that could not attend. We made plans for the upcoming two months and I have alot of information to share with you....
* Vida Barnes voluntered to be the FRG Secretary. WooHoo!
* We are putting together an Aloha/Welcome Packet for the new comers. Any information you want to share as a helpful tool is welcome. For example, every Monday is Military Appreciation at Price Busters and we get a discount.
* SIMS North Meeting - Monday, 7 March 2011, 0900-1000, Nehelani. Send any related concerns to LTC Pamela Ting at Pamela.Ting@us.army.mil.
SIMS South Meeting - Wednesday, 2 March 2011, 0900-1000, Hale Ikena. Send any related concerns to Leighton Siu at Leighton.siu@us.army.mil.
* Gary Sinise and the Lieutenant Dan Band will be performing a free concert on the lawn at Sills Field, 12 Feb at 1700. Concert is presented by the USO....Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. The field fills up fast so get there early enough to get a great spot. Since rain this time of year is unpredictable taking some sort of rain gear would be smart. We did get rained on last year....I'm just sayin'
* This time of year is Whale Watching Season...It is a spectacular event to see. You never know what you will see once on the water, spinner dolphins, sea turtle, schools of tropical fish. Look for spouts of water shooting out of the ocean...it a whale. The one I enjoyed and had a military rate (this was last year) is Star of Honolulu, http://www.starofhonolulu.com/
* http://www.25idl.army.mil/ and www.usarpac.army.mil/8tsc/index.html has more information on upcoming and ongoing activities. There are is too much to type so check it out there...under Spouses Information.
* We (311th FRG) are putting together a Yellow Book for our unit comprised of people in our unit family. The purpose is to offer services of trusted individuals. Do you need your lawn cut? Flip open the Yellow Book and you will find that Timmy down the street will cut the lawn for $10. Get the idea? So if you want to participate and you are part of the 311th, you can send your information to 311signalfrg@gmail.com.
